Early afternoon of 03.04.742 word reached Fort Weyr that bluerider F'vin was being sought for questioning in regards to the Ista Weyr Incident of that morning. However, hours before that came in, blue Semoth was heard giving his death cry before going between. F'vin was not found in his weyr. Late afternoon, while the young weyrling class was out at the lake, green Jenath and her rider A'ryn discovered F'vin behind a clumping of large rocks... his throat slit. It was not self-inflicted and no other evidence left behind. Rumours have started that F'vin had an accomplice that turned on him or perhaps a vigilante sought justice of their own.

Solo Thread

On the morning of 03.04.742 a horrific attack occurred in Ista Weyr. Goldrider Siftay was found in her bath, deceased. It appeared as though the water had been filled with an acid of some sort. Jr. Weyrwoman Ojassa and Weyrleader J'zaq were found in their bathrooms after the discovery, alive, but unconscious on the floor from fumes emanating from their bathwater which seemed to have been tainted in the same way.

Weyrwoman Casa was offering some individual tutoring to Candidate Zelana when they discovered their drinks had been poisoned. Both are in the infirmary at present, in stable condition thanks to quick acting on the Weyrwoman's part to try and counteract the poison and Thallyath's swift summoning of the Healers. It is unclear if this incident is related to the tainted bath water.

One witness, Brownrider K'tir, reported seeing a masked individual leaving the Weyrwoman's quarters, but a powder was thrown into his face, burning his eyes, nose, and mouth, and rendering him blind. It is uncertain whether he will recover or not.

Bluerider F'vin from Fort is sought for questioning, since he was reported by the watch dragon as leaving the Weyr shortly after the incident involving K'tir was reported.

*Survivors of the acid bath fumes will find that they suffer from the following symptoms for at least a month: blurred vision, dizziness, vertigo, shortness of breath, coughing, burning sensation in the lungs, nose, throat, mouth, and eyes. Blurred vision may last longer or be permanent.
Casa and Zelana will have digestion troubles for a couple weeks.
K'tir has been permanently blinded.

Tragedy has struck again. During the afternoon of 28.03.742 various infirmaries began to receive reports of illness following the consumption of muffins found in their weyrs (one muffin in each case). Initial symptoms of the poisoning included drowsiness, dizziness, shortness of breath, and fainting. After a few hours of eating the muffins, the patients who had reported to the infirmaries displayed increased difficulty breathing despite clear airways, convulsions, and some eventually died. In two known cases, the muffins were clearly left for Weyrwoman Mulrissa and Goldrider Cazan and were found in their weyrs, but were eaten by Weyrleader S'far and Bronzerider T'ryn respectively. It is suspected that Brownrider K'ton's muffin was intended for Goldrider Vaeyla and Craftsman Vondal's was intended for Goldrider Helyna.

*Survivors will find that they suffer from the following symptoms for at least a few months, possibly for the rest of their lives: headaches, occasional twitching, sporadic tremors in various degrees of severity based on individual. This particular toxin is also known to cause miscarriages in pregnant survivors even in small dosages.

On the afternoon of 24.03.742, Benden is hit again. Weyrwoman Ameris and her son Rislan shared a treat of chocolates together only to end up horribly ill. Both will survive but Ameris and M'ris suffer in other ways.

More tragedy! On 18.03.742 Benden Weyrleader M'ris was enjoying time with his three eldest children when they all fell ill to varying degrees. M'ris was bed-ridden for two days and in that time the truth was revealed. A disgruntled drudge that M'ris was snippy at one day (during one of his migraines) seemed to hold a drudge and laced specially made drinks with poison. R'dal, Dimarna, and M'ris all recovered, however, the youngest son Mardarian had drank too much and died. The drudge, unable to live with what he had done, took his own life shortly after. On 18.03.742 Bronzerider A'dris of Vyaniorth was found dead in his personal bathing pool. He appears to have drowned after drinking an excess of alcohol. Afterwards it was realized that Machiya of Gold Cameth from Telgar Weyr had disappeared. Having never arrived at her destination, it is suspected she had an accident between.

Tragedy has struck in Fort Weyr as a gold flight ended in disaster. It first became apparent that something had gone terribly wrong on the evening of 11.03.742 when Racoth went between taking Bronze Beruth of T'rel with her shortly after she had been caught. Goldrider Donmaline was found dead in her quarters, strangled during the flight by the rider of the bronze that caught her. It appeared she fought back as she was found clutching a broken bottle of wine and Bronzerider T'rel was unconscious. He did not survive the blow to his head.

We're doing it again!

Copying last year's blurb since I'm on my phone at work and I want to get this going so we can get to the playing soon.

So instead of just randomly matching characters together, I'll randomly toss in an object or an idea for the pair to thread about. For example, M'ris, F'drel, and shopping. Or L'gan, Rhaedalyn, and baby-sitting. Or R'dal and Zelana get lost in the woods (let's hope not! How did they even end up there? Where's Edath?)

Whether you have someone you want to sign up or not, please toss me some ideas to add to the list to help keep things spicy and not leave me floundering and you ending up with a really lame idea.

Like last year, I'll leave everything up to random.org but I will intervene when a player gets their own characters paired up together.

And if anyone wants to be in a thread with three people instead of just two, put that down as well and if there are enough interested, I'll toss up some trios as well.

Also feel free to say you wouldn't mind your character having more than one pair up. Given how many characters I have alone, that will likely be doable and help lower the odds of your own characters matching up. (Looking at you, Candidates! A fun way to get them active or meet new people.)

Sign up by the end of December 5th and I'll randomize it all that night so everyone has plenty of time to plot and play.
