Sleep had not been great. Sherekhath had done his best to try and help, pacing around his bed and promising to keep watch. But every time he did manage to drift off despite knowing how many other people were shoved into the same room as him, someone would end up waking up for one reason or another, or snore, or toss in their bed, or a dragonet would do something and he'd startle awake and have to wait for his heart to settle back down before he could try and start all over again. Maybe he'd get used to never really sleeping again. He somehow doubted he'd get used to it. Really so long as Sherekhath got enough sleep it would probably be fine. While I'vens could get loopy and silly when running on empty, the bronze seemed to have a much grumpier sleepy demeanor.
And at least he wasn't going crazy like that Harper. I'vens still wasn't sure if it was because L'ri was old, or just overly dramatic and already given to flights of near madness befitting someone creative. It was sometime in the morning he supposed, the assistants were handing whichever weyrlings were awake buckets of food and oil and water as needed, but otherwise it seemed that they were fine to just rest with no real stressful lessons yet. Not that getting used to this and being exhausted wasn't stressful enough. He wanted to try and go back to sleep but a quick glance around showed that the pretty goldrider was awake and I'vens decided that maybe being awake was fine.
He stretched and stood up before casually heading her way, Sherekhath walking along at his side curiously. Why are we going? "Just going to introduce ourselves Sher," he said softly to the bronze as he tried to remember the new goldrider's name. Mylorah. He muttered a quick thanks, reaching down to give the bronze's eyeridges a quick scratch before arriving at the woman and giving her a smile as she oiled her bonded. "Hello there, want any help? Or mind if I join you? I'm Qui... sorry, I'vens. You're Mylorah right? I just wanted to get to know you a bit, you seem interesting." And pretty, the bronze helpfully added. The fact that her mate was a gold made introductions and conversation acceptable enough for the hatchling so he sat down and waited for his rider to do whatever it was he was going to or for his golden sister to be finished with her oiling so that maybe they could play.
