Casa didn’t get to spend nearly enough time at the beach, in her opinion. This was, primarily, due to the fact that her dragon was the reigning ruler of the Anti-Fun Campaign and disliked Casa doing anything remotely fun. Like swimming, and living life, and having friends, and doing anything interesting. I do not, Thallyath put in irritably, I simply expect you to take care of your responsibilities before goofing off like a lowlife green pair. She paused, then added, If you actually did your chores I wouldn’t have to harp on to you about it. Casa allowed that there was probably a point in there, but she was so used to Thallyath harping at her, that she never thought the dragon might stop if she took action on her own.
“Oh?” Casa asked, sitting up properly and leaning forward to see what Ambrya had been working on. “That’s very pretty,” Casa said honestly, reaching out to gently touch the embroidery with her fingertips, being careful not to get it dirty (though her hands were clean!) or accidentally catching a stitch on her nails; unlike many of the more ladylike women she knew, Casa’s nails were a disaster, the girl often breaking them or biting them in boredom.
She grinned as she pulled her hand back carefully. “I’m glad Thallyath isn’t disillusioned enough to expect me to do that for her,” she laughed.Hrmph. You can do one up for me when we have a clutch on the sands, the gold’s tone held a teasing note that let Casa know she wasn’t actually serious. “I blow at doing embroidery.” She confided, her eyes sparkling with good humour.
