She watched, preoccupied, as one after another the hatchlings made choices and were lead off the sands. She clapped when needed and made noises at the antics but it was the gold egg that had her attention as it begun to crack. The occupant spilling forth and to begin marching her way to the girls waiting her presence. Who would join the ranks as Katila's newest goldrider? She studied the pale gold hatchling as she stomped along in search. And chuckled quietly when the smart gold took a header just in front of the girls. Rislan giggled loudly at the clumsy queen and Ameris glanced at her son with a smile as a crow was let loose and she snapped her head back to the hatching.
The crow had come from K'ton, Ameris easily recognizing her friends voice and the woman saw why. The pale gold had chosen Vaelya to be hers and Ameris cheered and clapped loudly for her friend. She always knew that the perfect hatchling was waiting for Vaelya though the other woman had despaired of ever impressing. She will make a fine rider, Vaelya will, her own dragon said to her and Ameris quietly agreed. Vaelya had all the makings of a fine rider.
As she watched the newest pair make their way from the sands a new ruckus sounded as another hatchling made themselves known. TheDreamer egg had used the distraction of the gold hatchling to her advantage, breaking shell and impressing with few the wiser. Ameris giggled herself as she watched the green pair stumble as the hatchling's tail wiggle out to wrap around her bonded' ankle, sending the small boy tumbling. Silly greens.
Two more greens showed themselves as theBalanced and the Reflective eggs hatched nearly at the same time and galloped off to find their boys. Reflective impressing scant moments before her sister and the pairs moved off, boys animated as they chatted to each other over buckets of meat. Dynamic glared from beneath the helmet of his shell, snorting angrily at the chuckles at his expense. With a violent toss of his head, the blue streaked to the boys and with a hop knocked his boy to the ground.
The pair wrestled with each other as they fought to their feet and finally theDynamic hatchling and his bonded made their way to the buckets.. Thankfully the young man and his dragon had come out of the collision unscathed which was not the case for the Effecient hatchling as she took her bonded and another down admits cries as hard talons tore into thighs. Ameris sighed at the ineptness of the hatchling's abilities and Mizeath nudged her with a short a high. The pair would always disagree on hatchings it would seem.
Pessimistic , Nervous , and Adaptable revealed their hatchling's in short order, Pessimistic impressing with a rather smug look on her face before her brother and sister. Ameris rolled her eyes at the nearly human look on that green's face as she watched Adaptable nudge his sister with encouragement where Nervous cowered at the sight of the crowd. Finally the blue managed to get his sister to her feet and pointed towards the boys. With a shove, Adaptable sent her tumbling into the boys where eyes flashed with impression, before he himself sought his own boy and making his way off the sands.
The finally egg to hatch,Fearless , revealed another bronze who quickly made his way to the group of sturdy young lads waiting with care as he stopped and nudged and sniffed his way around the crowd. The hatchling's eyes whirled an angry red as he shrieked in rage, striking out at a tall boy and narrowly missing the back of legs. The enraged dragonet shrieked again before disappearing between and Mizeath sent up a small keen for the lost bronze.
Ameris sighed heavily at the loss of a bronze dragonets. Fresh dragonets were always welcome and bronzes more so. But what could they do? She thought as she dropped from Mizeath's arm to swing Rislan to her shoulders with a oomph. The boy was getting far to big for that but she kept him where he was as Mud buzzed around them. Leaving L'varl and Korutath to dispose of the unmatched eggs, Ameris made her way to congratulate those newly impressed, with a quick stop to squeal over Vaelya's young gold of course.
*I'll fix the color codes when I get home haha
