Kellian
"Kel! Kel! Come on, the eggs are hatching! Get dressed girl!"
The voice had come so suddenly that it had startled Kellian into a stunned silence until her friend grabbed her and all but dressed her in her robes herself. The contact left her jumping slightly but she laughed it off and finished changing into the traditional white robes and hurried after her friend and the other candidates as they made their way over to the new hatching sands. Once she arrived, she slowed herself and made sure she looked presentable. She may have only been a candidate, but that was no reason for her to look completely disheveled. She wasn't quite sure why she cared, but she knew her father was there watching and she did not want to reflect poorly on him, or L'ton either.
It had nearly been a turn since the discovery that her friend L'ton was her brother, bit of an awkward heartbreak but she had finally gotten over that. It was an odd place for her to be, to go from an unwanted then parent-less, only child, to someone's daughter and sister. K'ton had been very nice to her, and she would consider herself friendly with him, more so than she initially had been at least. L'ton was still her friend, though it was still odd to see him as a brother and not just a friend. Having a family that cared and wanted her around was not something she was accustomed to, but she wanted to make them proud of her regardless. So she finished walked across the sands as a proper gold candidate should, though it was very hard for her to contain her excitement, as always.
She stood waiting with the older girls, all waiting anxiously for the gold egg before them to crack open and then baby inside to greet the world and choose one of them as her bonded. Kellian was excited and nervous all at the same time, hopeful as always that she would be chosen. She knew of course it was not the last time she would be up for an Impression, she knew that this may not be the dragon for her and that there would always be another golden egg to stand for. However, she always walked onto the stands, hoping, really hoping, that that day, would be her day.
Her excitement grew as she heard excited voices from across the sands where some of the other eggs had started to hatch. She saw two greens hatch, and then a third that ran off and collided with her sisters before a couple of them Impressed. She didn't know which dragon Impressed which boy, but it didn't really matter. The next dragon she saw was a blue that seemed to be having a grand time stomping around in circles, crushing what was left of his shell. She let out a soft "Ooo.", as a nice brown hatched, though she flinched when he made a swipe for the last blue that hatched. She couldn't help but smile at the antics of the hatchlings, and bounced a bit on the balls of her feet, waiting for others to hatch, especially the gold.
