N’lis couldn’t fight the tears as his mom appeared and he hugged her tightly while trying to hide that he was crying. She’d brought someone that he suspected was the Harper she’d mentioned before and didn’t want to seem completely pathetic or foolish to him. He did his best to compose himself and quickly turned his attention to Dalsuth, still worried that he was dreaming.
Dalsuth glanced down at his front legs and then at his outstretched wings as if taking in his own appearance for the first time when the new human mentioned his colouring.I am rather pretty, aren’t I? Dalsuth commented, not meaning to be arrogant but just surprised at the lovely colours he displayed. And then he lost his balance while trying to see further back and landed in an undignified heap once more.
N’lis bit his lip, not wanting to grin at his dragon’s antics and helped him right himself again. It was amazing how the absolute fear of a small blue dragonet he had just hours ago was completely gone now that he had Dalsuth. He wasn’t afraid to get close to the claws that resembled the ones that had sliced him up and he only laughed when a wing accidentally slapped against him when Dalsuth regained his footing.
Before he could answer Gangleri’s question, the little blue considered N’lis and then the Harper,I do. The bigger dragons were humming when I hatched and it was very lovely. Dalsuth gave humming a shot, pleased that it came to him naturally. N’lis would have been surprised that he knew the concept of songs and music but hatchlings were still smart creatures in their own right and he’d been thinking about music as soon as Gangleri brought it up so Dalsuth likely easily latched onto the thought and learned.
I think I would like a fun song. And we can dance to it, Dalsuth added looking up at N’lis, eyes whirling with excitement. Dancing seemed very much like zooming around the place but just more isolated to one spot. Still, he could do that!
