"A challenge? That's new," R'vi was still grinning, still having a great time, and not put off by having to work a little for his potential reward. It was a rarity, though. His reputation preceded him, sometimes even with Candidates, like now. It seemed she knew who he was and hadn't been put off by how blunt he was despite her being holdbred. Perhaps she had been at the Weyr long enough or she was one of the rare holders that didn't have a stick up the ass.
Taking her up on the challenge to show her a good time with dancing, R'vi grabbed her cup and set it down on a table before offering his hand for her to take. He then led her out to an open spot, contemplating the type of dancing she would both enjoy and he could get away with at a Hold with the sun still up. Opting to start on the safer side and go with what the holders seemed to think was respectful spacing and touching, R'vi took up leading them through the song that was already under way.
"And yes, that line does sometimes work," R'vi stated when the song came to a close. Honestly, he didn't get to use that line as much as he would have preferred but when he prowled the dance square at a Gather, he was known to toss it out. He pulled her in close when the next song started up and whispered against her ear, "sometimes, I don't have to say anything at all."
With a chuckle, R'vi twirled her away but in the span of that motion and pulling her back in, he heard N'vian reminding him getting a name made the night go smoother and almost sighed--and then did when another voice made itself known. The imaginary voice is right. Don't be rude.
"The actual voice in my head pointed out I'm a rude jerk. I know you're a Candidate but I'm afraid I haven't had the pleasure of catching your name yet."
