August adjusted the dress she wore and looked around those who were gathered. Her dress was a simple affair, a sheath of olive green cotton split at the hem and cinched at the waist. The split was high enough that when she moved just right the entire expanse of a thigh could be seen. She was modest enough that her upper arms were covered as was her chest. No one could accuse her of being on the prowl. Not that she'd decided if she was or not. Hand reached out and grabbed the glass off a tray that was carried by a passing drudge and she drank the wine inside.
One of the blueriders had given her a ride and was supposed to be her chaperon but neither could agree that a woman of her age needed a chaperone so the man had simply faded into the background. August didn't mind and it gave her time to survey the crowd and people watch. She enjoyed watching the people at these things, they always started with controlled chaos before the control slipped and the wild came out.
Arm circled her waist and she used that arm to prop the other up as she grinned around her glass. The wine was delicious, something she would expect from Benden and she hummed lightly as she sipped it. Maybe she should just jump on the dance floor and let loose. As soon as the thought was created it was tossed out. She could get wild when she wanted but truthfully August needed a few more glasses of wine to get her to shake her ass on the dance floor.
She motioned for someone to take her glass and grabbed another. Liquid courage never hurt anyone.
