The thought of losing, especially while they were both in the same location, never crossed R’nd’s mind before getting lost in the flight lust and it wasn’t something he worried about either when he felt the bed shift. He was beyond confident in who he would find beside him and not just because of Ayyonth’s satisfaction through their bond. It was pure confidence and faith that it would all work out as it should that had him smiling before B’jin came into view. As he patiently waited through B’jin playing with his hair, R’nd had to wonder what it was like for a greenrider or goldrider after a flight. He had a small taste of it when he lost and didn’t know who he had tumbled into bed with but there had to be a greater fear and perhaps even dread or hope for a rider of a female dragon. While he wasn’t a colourist and had great respect for all riders, R’nd was glad he had mated to a blue dragon and didn’t have to go through that on a regular basis.
At the comment about being oiled up, R’nd finally glanced down at his body and chuckled. He hadn’t even noticed he was coated in the lavender-scented substance but he didn’t mind. Although, he did have to wonder if that was why B’jin was playing with his hair. That almost made him frown but he held off that urge as well as the one that wanted him to pat at his head and check out what had been done to his hair. It wasn’t anything that a bath couldn’t fix and it wasn’t anything that couldn’t wait until later in the day. “Perhaps I should keep this look and see what others think of it,” he teased B’jin with a smile and quirk of his brow to imply he wanted to see if anyone else found his toned oiled body as appealing.
“I think the bedding can be ignored a bit longer. I’d hate to put a fresh set on only to get them oily as well,” R’nd pulled B’jin back down beside him after the light kiss ended, happily ignoring the laundry that was nowhere near the top of the list of priorities for the remainder of the morning. Lounging in bed with his lover took up at least the top three spots on that list.
As he ran a hand through B’jin’s hair, mentally observing how long it was getting, R’nd’s gaze landed on the painting of Ayyonth and Larrikith B’jin had painted before they really even had a true relationship. “This morning started out much like that of the first flight we had together. Ayyonth had to wake me up, informing me Larrikith was flying both times. We were both always interested in giving chase to you two.” If Ayyonth hadn’t woken him up that day now so long ago, R’nd wondered if he would have ended up with B’jin. Without that flight putting him on the greenrider’s radar and giving R’nd a bit of encouragement, he may not have approached B’jin when the man was being shunned by the Weyr for some silly punishment. Maybe they would have still ended up together but it may have been further down the line and so many wonderful moments would have been missed out on.
