Since Erisi was bothering to talk to him, Talian didn't leave quite yet. That would be rude. He listened to Erisi's next spill and nodded throughout, his expression gradually souring more and more. He agreed wholeheartedly.
"I'm not interested in these dragons," Talian confessed. He didn't say anything about it, but he'd begun considering drastic measures to avoid it. He'd been informed that all 'candidates' were forced to stand the first time around. Since the mother dragon had mated, that meant Talian didn't have a lot of time to make up his mind concerning those drastic measures.
He realex a little, his posture becoming less rigid and his facial expression less minimal. He tended to amble his way through Katilan life as a zombie, but it really didn't suit him. Withdrawing was a means to an end, a way to protect himself. Since Erisi was no longer showing his claws, Talian figured he may as well calm down and enjoy at least a few minutes of human interaction.
"I wasn't asked either," he said, leaning idly against the wall and letting the bucket rest beside him. "But I don't know that I've met anyone who was..." He took a moment to think about the usual tone of the kitchens and dining cavern when he visited at mealtime. "...I see no reason why you couldn't drink. I see the...natives...doing it all the time," he reasoned softly. He wasn't a drinker himself. The academic side of him forbade the distraught side from picking the habit up.
