By the time Talian hissed from slipping and cutting his own hand, Aparicus’ body had finally gone limp as she slipped into blissful oblivion brought on by the intense stress of the situation as well as the calming, mind numbing properties of the tea. Her breathing had finally steadied, though it was shallow and through her mouth rather than her nose. She’d have a sore throat when she woke, but at least the wound was cleaned and closed by a professional rather than clumsy, inexperienced hands and gnarled fingers that would have made a mess of the stitches.
She didn’t feel when she was finally release, which was probably a blessing in itself. With the effects of the tea she’d probably have not made it out the door without falling into something – or worse – someone. She would easily sleep the rest of the candlemark, if not more before she’d wake up and do her best to sneak out of the Healer’s Hall unnoticed. After this… who knew the next time she’d be brave enough to return with fresh flowers for the various patient rooms like she had once been prone to do.
