D'ren lifted a brow, listening carefully to R'nya's subtle but confident proposal, and couldn't help but smile again. "Well, I didn't say there wasn't room for any fun and games," he commented, both amused and highly impressed by the idea. "You know, you may have really hit on something, R'nya...it's been all gloom and doom lately. Everyone is at each other's throats. Perhaps something practical that's disguised as a game will help spark their enthusiasm a bit more."
It really was a fine idea. Of course, D'ren's own wing was heavy on bronzes and browns, generally lacking in any sense of humor or fun. D'ren always had admired the spirited little chromatics, who he figured would be far more receptive to 'weyrling' type exercises. Of course, this sentiment may have been a dash of colorism, albeit well-meaning and unintentional. He had a hard time taking green and blueriders seriously sometimes, but maybe it was just because he was so sharding sick of taking everyone else so seriously. He saw what he wanted to when he looked to them; people who were every bit as much the dragonrider as he was, but so much more free to do as they pleased and express themselves honestly.
Of course, they certainly had their own unique brand of hardships to face.
"I like it," he confirmed at length, as if he actually had to for a clever fellow like R'nya to pick up on his approval. "I would do something similar myself, but I'm afraid my riders are all sharding boring. You have a colorful group; I'd have wanted B'jin myself, but I had to pass on him for several reasons." Disappointment factored in a small bit, but it had more to do with the brown-heavy nature of his own wing. B'jin seemed so flighty around them! "But he has a couple friends in the wing, so I'm certain he's fine. I used to see him and S'kef chatting so amiably when they ran into each other at my hut sometimes..."
If only he knew. Not that he ever would, though. B'jin would never keep something so horrible from him!
