"S'far has been very supportive. I think it's because he feels lucky that he gets to keep three golds." That and the Telgar Weyrleader just seemed very... fatherly. Considering how K'dar didn't know who his real father was, it had been nice to have him to look up to. It served as a nice supplement to having R'nd as an adoptive father. "I should probably stop by and talk to Casa while I'm here since..."
K'dar frowned, brow furrowing for a moment as he began to frantically check his earlier sibling math. He sighed, rubbing his hand through his hair as he let out a soft chuckle. "Well... I guess at least one of the siblings will still be spread out anyway. She's definitely not going to be moving. Ah well. At least I'll have a couple of the bigger troublemakers with me." Not that Zory really made trouble, it was more that trouble just happened to have a very easy time sneaking up on him while he was distracted. Though with Orgailian possibly calming down since becoming his roommate, maybe the two of them would be good for each other.
He tilted his head curiously when A'tay mentioned he had an idea. "Oh? Well let's hear it!" K'dar smiled, taking it as a good sign of his new second's enthusiasm. Though once he heard the idea the smile faded slightly as he raised an eyebrow and considered. Had he met Zelana's brother at all? He probably had in passing at a hatching party, he was sure. Maybe one of the dinners she'd cooked for? He wasn't too familiar with the man either way, but that was fine. If A'tay liked him enough to ask for this he was probably a decent enough man. Though without knowing if he was any good at hunting, it seemed almost silly to try and dedicate time to training him up when they would have so many other things to work on at the same time. Don't take too long to answer or he'll think you hate the idea.
"Sorry, just thinking," K'dar quickly said aloud before giving A'tay another smile. "So, he likes being outdoors, but you don't know if he's good at hunting or fishing. We probably shouldn't send him out into the desert then, not for a while at least. The river isn't too far, so using boats for major supply movements could be a good idea. We can chat with him about some possibilities, I'm sure we can figure something out and also get him his own quarters. You might need that spare room for something else one day after all." And if something happened between Tay and Zelly, there wouldn't be any additional awkwardness trying to figure out one more person's living situation.
