Egg 8 for Chironhes:
Aren't you hot sitting there on the sand? Sometimes the egg thinks it's hot and that a nice soothing swim would be just the thing. It curiously digs into your head, rummaging around curiously trying to learn as much as it can in short order. Oh! You've accomplished quite a bit. Reading? That seems fancy. How does that even work? Why would you have to learn it? Huh so you can't talk? But it can hear you just fine right now. Still you've gotten a lot done it seems and in such a short time, the presence seems impressed, but you get the feeling it's not quite sure just how impressed to be as it studies you. Eventually you can feel an almost shrugging motion as the presence withdraws without any further consideration.
Chironhes grinned as he pressed his cheek gently against the egg. He was quite hot, but sitting seemed less threatening for the worried, protective mother hovering nearby. While the boy was more than eager to meet the eggs, he didn't think it was fair to do so at the risk of overstressing Malvayth. She'd already worked so hard carrying so many safely, and now she had to stand guard and ensure there was no funny business. An accident could happen so easily, and it would be a tragic, senseless loss. The last thing Chir wanted was to trip over his own feet and slam into an egg. While they were large, they seemed fragile simply for how young the lives within were.
Feeling this egg focus on his most recent accomplishments, he turned to brace his forehead affectionately against the egg's surface. He had, hadn't he? Only a few months ago, he was living a lonely existence in ignorance. With so many new dragon friends, there was no way he could ever feel especially lonely! And perhaps one day, he'd never feel lonely again with a dragon to call partner, bonded, mated.
Chir was grateful this egg's presence was less painful than the first. He couldn't tell if he was growing accustomed to the rough entry of younglings or if this one in particular just had a softer way about it. Either way, once he felt it retreat, the boy stood to move on.
Spotting Mylorah sitting in the stands with another, Fetch, he thought, he shot her a sunny smile. This was fun! Scanning around his fellow candidates, he spotted Sironar still among the eggs. There didn't seem to be any rule against greeting more, and while he doubted Malvayth would tolerate the candidates' presence long enough for him to meet all of them, he wanted to see as many as he could.
Spotting a lonely egg closest to Malvayth that others had so far avoided, Chir wove his way over with the same calm manner he had with all the others and knelt beside it. Bracing both hands gently against it, he touched his forehead to it and closed his eyes, his mind open and welcoming for the next.
