Orgailian winced as the dragonet came crashing into his mind and stomping around like an entire class of weyrlings. It took a moment to catch up but he was soon frowning at secrets and not respecting them. He clearly respected some or his nosy siblings would have learned about his kid before he finally said something. Otherwise, he didn’t care one way or the other about secrets. Everyone had them, just some were minor and others extremely major. He kept other random things to himself but that was more just him not caring to share or forgetting about it. Was someone keeping something from him? Eh, good for them.
The presence seemed like it was itching for a fight and Orgailian sent waves of amusement back at it. Sorry, you little bossy bitch. I’m not that easily swayed to violence. He wasn’t much for verbal sparring either. Tossing out some insulting comment—truths—and then proceeding to ignore the other person was usually how it went. Sometimes the other person wasn’t even worth a comment and Orgailian moved right into ignoring, maybe an eye roll before it.
Once the dragonet seemed to start having an existential crisis of some sort and questioning what was outside the egg and how it wasn’t even born yet or if it would even remember their interaction, Orgailian lowered his defences a bit and gave it some soothing thoughts. He really didn’t think the dragonets remembered anything of the Touching—which was probably a good thing. What if the mates had a bad first impression and always remembered that? Or worse, what if their mate never Touched the egg and a bond couldn’t be formed otherwise? These were definitely done for the superstitious and probably helped the Searched holders in some way.
But the poor dragonet cramped in an egg. Orgailian tried to promise he would keep an eye out for their big arrival at the Hatching but the presence was already gone. He had been ready to dismiss the dragon like he did with a lot of people and move on but now he was fully occupying his thoughts—and his head in general as a headache started. Damn, that really had been a powerful introduction. Should he call it quits early? Nah, at least one more and then check on his head and health in general.
Orgailian smiled as he past Zelana to go to her other side and lay a hand on egg 17.
