At first Mylorah was cautious when the little gold brought up that something was happening. Did she mean with herself? Should Malvayth and Cazan be informed? Or did the gold mean outside in the Weyr? Should she be more alert? But no, it was enthusiasm and soon Mylorah was giving in and yes, she did feel it as well. A Hatching was coming up where new life bonds would be created and she was surrounded by so many of her loved ones. Did she encourage the next line of thought or had the dragon encouraged her to have a surge of affection for her friends?
She didn’t stop to think about who she was always the most excited to see as an image of Tazikel formed in her mind. Her Sir Tazicurls smiling as they danced. But her Master Harper also always made her excited. And Fetch. And Sh’ran. How could she not be happy when she saw such wonderful people? She did her best to explain her feelings for all of her friends by bringing up lovely memories of each one, smiling the entire time. Mylorah was fairly certain she was still being judged like all of the other golden eggs over the years had done but this one seemed subtle about it. Did she pass? She’d find out at the Hatching.
“Thank you for your time,” Mylorah whispered when their brief bond broke and it was time to go their own ways. She didn’t dwell long, knowing if a line wasn’t behind her, another girl would be zooming in as soon as she saw the egg was free. She also didn’t want to linger because Malvayth was standing fairly close by and Mylorah didn’t think either of them were in the mood to discuss how that egg was doing. She did, however, give an encouraging smile to Cazan and A’tay, a silent sign that the dragon was in good spirits and so was she. It was so weird to see the wrong brother standing next to Cazan and A’tay seemed to know it as well with how he fidgeted and did his best to look like he wasn’t about to bolt for the door. Zelly would soothe his frazzled nerves later.
She walked by Ulliendis in time to catch him softly singing a song she knew but refrained from singing along. The Sands with a nervous gold dragon glaring down at them was not the place to start up a singalong. But she admired the runaway Harper for keeping to his roots and seeming to enjoy himself. Maybe it was the chance to hear more singing that had her stopping at an egg close to Ulliendis or it was simply Mylorah figured one egg was as good as the next. Whatever the reason, she nodded a greeting to the egg and introduced herself when she touched the shell.
