“It’s your truth to tell and I know you will when you’re ready,” Mylorah continued with being supportive and encouraging despite not knowing much about Geric. She hoped he found his happiness and some of his nerves left him once he was comfortable with who he was and loved and knew his brother would continue to support him no matter what. Would Gangleri mention his own discoveries? She didn’t really think either brother were the sort to share intimate details with the other but there was a chance he would at least mention he had some casual hook-ups with men as well so Geric would know it wasn’t so bad to love another man.
“Ah yes. My aversion to marriage does make me rather desirable,” Mylorah drawled, tone dry. She doubted that was a reason for Gangleri’s interest and she knew it wasn’t her age given how much he dwelled on it. There was something early on that she swore both attracted him and frightened him but he never said what it was and it didn’t seem to haunt him nearly as much now. A part of her wondered if she looked like his first wife but Geric didn’t react to her like he’d seen a ghost or mention anything other than that apparently she wasn’t as wonderful as Quilriana. She desperately wanted to know more about that wife and try to pick Geric’s brain over why Gangleri was initially drawn to her but it wasn’t the time and she still believed the Master Harper would tell her himself one day.
Dinner looked and tasted as amazing as it smelled and Mylorah ate her fair share. She had never been the type to only nibble and declare herself full like some of those weird Hold ladies at the fancy parties. The conversation was a lot more stimulating than those parties as well. Quilriana asked about her life and was genuinely interested while also easily sharing stories of her own. Mylorah really liked the woman and was glad that Gangleri had her in his life. Geric seemed more relaxed since they sat down and answered her questions, though she made sure to stay away from love lives and letters.
When Quilriana started to clean the table, Mylorah offered to help and started to get up but the hostess waved off the attempt so she sat back down. At the Weyr, everyone helped clean up after themselves and she knew better than to think she needed to lift a finger at the parties with Tazikel. But here, she wasn’t sure of the rules. So she turned back to Geric after Quilriana announced cherry pie would be coming out in just a moment. “I didn’t even think of it until now but are you coming to the play with us? A man on each arm is always better than just one,” she couldn’t help but lightly flirt with him now that they seemed a bit more at ease again.
