It was hard to try and relax, but at least Mylorah insisted it wasn't his fault. Still he felt bad for killing a guest's mood. This was probably why Leeri never hosted any parties at home. And at least Mylorah was nice and trying to offer more reassurances. "I'm not sure if he's that open minded," Geric said with a small grumble. Still though he sighed and shrugged, "And maybe you're right and he won't just... later. When I feel more ready and have things figured out."
The hand squeeze startled him for a moment, and he blushed slightly at the gesture though it was more from embarrassment and surprise than anything else. Mylorah had no idea what he was going through, her support and positivity should have been meaningless, but it was still nice and he couldn't help but give her hand a gentle squeeze back in return before gingerly pulling his hand away. "Ah, sorry about that. I get clammy... you wouldn't want to hold my hand for long."
And then she was rolling her eyes and he couldn't help but let out a soft snicker. "You're older than me," Geric said with an amused smile that was more honest. "I just meant that I thought Leeri would be going after an older woman. I've seen him dismissively shoo away young women enough times at the Hall. Though that may have been because he thought they weren't interesting enough and relying too much on their looks to try and find a man to marry." He scratched his jaw thoughtfully at that, wondering if it was the fact that a weyrbred girl wouldn't care about trying to ensnare a man for marriage. Then again he had gotten married to Quil, but he also loved his wife. Though maybe not enough to be faithful to her? That didn't seem right at all to Geric, but he wasn't about to try and ask his brother for more information about his romantic life. That would only lead to more stress and discomfort.
He shook his head and gave Mylo another thoughtful smile as he offered her his arm. "Come on, let's go get dinner or Gangleri will think I fell down or did some other dumb thing again. You already met Quilriana right? She's great." Much more quietly he added, "Much better than his first wife. But don't ask him about her or he might get upset or sad."
