He could move again but Orgailian still felt numb. He couldn't do anything to save his brother. His brother that was currently fighting for his life, again, in a bed not too far from his own. He had failed to keep his little brother safe.
It was still a blur, trying to recall everything but he had been assured that was the shock and clearer details might come to him later. What he did know was he had been stabbed in the back of the neck while taking notes in the library and then someone was forcing a liquid down his throat until Zoremet interrupted the attack. Orgailian soon found himself tensing up and slumping to the side and ending up on the ground. The table blocked most of his view but he could see their legs. Hear the cries. Hear Pit trying to help. Then he saw blood, too much of it, and Zoremet was soon on the floor as well with a table that felt like the continent between them.
Now, a handful of hours later he could move again and he was told he should be okay to leave. But not Zoremet. Would he survive? No one could tell him and not many could meet his gaze when he managed to croak out the question. His throat was dry and still felt constricted but was it the liquid poured down his gullet or fear of losing Zory?
Almost all of his siblings were there as soon as word reached them. Casa hadn't arrived yet but she was a Weyrwoman and would have to delegate duties first before she came. If she came at all. He considered her a friend and assumed she would but he probably wouldn't hold it against her if she didn't. Orgailian wasn't even sure he would want to see another sibling dying again after T'ryn's struggle last year. But he was, wasn't he? It was hard to keep his gaze from Zoremet as Mylorah and K'dar helped him to his feet to escort him on a walk around the Bowl. He could move again and needed to but he was a bit unsteady and asked for one of them to come along. T'ryn nominated their dark haired siblings, probably in an attempt to get K'dar away for a little bit with Mylorah as the strongest one for butting heads with him when it was needed.
He walked slowly, clutching his stomach as he went. He'd forgotten to eat since an early breakfast again, was that part of the growing pain? He'd noticed it earlier but didn't point it out since talking was hard, he didn't always eat, and apparently paralysis was a bitch that could mess you up. But this was different than the usual he was dumb and didn't eat pains and Orgailian gasped as he dropped to his knees from the abdominal pain. He shook his siblings off of him as they started fussing because he needed space. A lot of it as he felt he was about to vomit and held a hand over his mouth.
Why did people do that, he wondered as the urge continued and he looked around for a bucket. Even if it would help hold it in, he didn't think he should and if it didn't, he didn't want it on his hands. And there wasn't a bucket, at least not near enough to matter. So he threw up where he was kneeling, eyes going wide when he saw the blood. Maybe he should have said something sooner, he thought as Mylorah and K'dar started screaming for help and Healers were once more surrounding him before he blacked out.
When he woke, he wished for paralysis again. It hurt a lot less than whatever was ailing him now. He had been propped on his side, someone--A'tay?--explained because of his convulsions and managing to vomit while in and out of consciousness. He felt like he was more out than in right then as well and he gasped out a request for water. A'tay was the owner of the mystery voice and he helped him try to take some sips of water but swallowing hurt and they gave up after several attempts. Some had made it down and that was good enough for the moment.
They had propped him facing Zoremet and Orgailian was glad. He needed to see his brother and know he was still there and fighting. How much time had passed? Was Zory improving? Was he awake? Did he blame his useless brother? His eyes slid shut when tears started to fall and he felt A'tay take his hand before the darkness took him once more before anything was asked.
ooc: The first attack on Orgailian left him paralyzed but alert for several hours before an oil was poured down his throat which is what caused the delayed tummy troubles. Usually it would take a little longer but he's a skinny boy that didn't eat much that day so it went through his system quicker.
He's going to be in and out for a while and in a lot of pain as "initial symptoms typically begin with gastrointestinal problems; these include nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Symptoms are then likely to rapidly progress, to include severe dehydration, difficulty swallowing, hemorrhage in the mucosal membranes of the gastrointestinal system, bloody feces, vomiting blood, shock, and organ failure in the pancreas, kidney, liver, and GI tract." So we'll see how it goes!
R'nd Kids: If you want to have a spot to post about worrying about him while you watch over him, feel free to reply here. He may even be awake for a short time if you want a little back and forth. Starting time of the thread is just from when he woke up so it can be hours later, middle of the night, morning...
PS: I apologize for the title. I couldn't get Bell Biv Devoe's Poison out of my head.
