The bronze dragon had been the first tip off that something was happening. K'dar was somewhere in the vicinity, which was interesting since the rider hadn't mentioned anything about that in their latest exchange of letters when Gangleri had asked if he would be available to give him a ride somewhere. He'd ended up getting transport from a rider in Fort, though now Tiberuth's distinct appearance had him wondering if he should have specified his destination in his initial request. Either way he was curious since as the evening had worn on the dragon was still there lounging on a cliff that overlooked the sea.
So instead of sending Fret to fetch his return ride back, he'd sent a letter to his wife informing her that he might be delayed and then set off to go snoop. He managed to peek in on one of the smaller private dining rooms to spot K'dar along with his sister having dinner with one of the Lord's sons and with several other guests. There was definitely a party going on, but from how people seemed to be displaying a certain level of restraint without any of the usual indications they were waiting for things to end so they could leave, he was sure that the real party was going to be somewhere else.
Clearly Gangleri was going to have to crash that.
A little bit more investigation, a quick visit charming chat with the host while he mixed a drink for a guest (it was so nice to find someone who appreciated that he always kept a mask on himself for such emergencies), and Gangleri was soon settled and sipping a glass of wine as he watched the other guests begin to trickle in. He adjusted his own mask, a bright purple and gold leather affair with stiff spikes curling up and forward from the top that had little bells dangling from the tips, and scanned the party to see if he could guess which mask hid away Mylorah's face. Unfortunately, everyone else attending the party was very clearly also quite young, so that made it a bit more challenging than he would have liked.
At least until he saw one young lady in a white mask begin to move with a very familiar liveliness and bounce to her step as she flitted from one person to another in casual greeting. He grinned and took another sip of his drink, biding his time until either she tried to introduce herself to him, or the party had time to get into full swing for him to casually make his way over to her.
