That is a good way of putting it. The hearts connect as much as the minds. Taith gave a soft trill of excitement over learning the best way to describe how they picked their mate. He knew the humans had their saying that the dragon always knew and they did! But he liked that their hearts connected just as much as their minds. In his excitement, he forgot to pass along the comment to Mylorah or even include her in the conversation. He didn't remember much about his early days, aside from what Kor'is held in his memories, but Taith knew who his bonded was meant to be as soon as he brushed the mind of a grumpy man and saw into him.
By the time the humans returned, Taith was lounging comfortably and let them eat without interruption. Mostly he was fascinated by how much Chironhes could pack away! Kor'is didn't eat nearly that much or as fast but maybe it was because Chir was still growing. He remembered eating a lot when he was growing so it made sense, even if it wasn't to help him get his adult hide.
Mylorah, however, didn't mind talking and peppered Chironhes with simple questions about his favourite things and giving her own answers. The delay in conversation seemed natural now, not that it had bothered her to begin with, but she was putting more effort into looking at Chir to watch his expressions. It seemed like Taith was doing a good job of relaying the replies but it didn't seem fair to rely solely on that so she watched for hand and head gestures and if he lit up with excitement over a certain topic.
When they finished up, Mylorah grabbed their plates, insisting Chironhes stay with Taith and bounced off to return the items. She appeared again a few minutes later, smiling and still with a skip to her step and gave a little twirl to finish off the movement. "How much more free time do you have? I don't want to steal it all and I should go find Fediletch and Kor'is eventually but I would like to spend a bit more time with you as well, Chir."
