Mylorah frowned again when no replies came but a hand gesture did. She was confused for a moment but she did clue in as the gesture was often used to soothe or indicate slowing down. "Sorry, I have been told quite a bit that I talk too much or too fast. I just like meeting new people and get excited when I see friends." She gave a little shrug. She couldn't help the excitement and was very much a social butterfly. That was at least one thing she got from her dad it seemed as she didn't get his blonde hair and blue eyes like the rest of the brood.
She was about to ask again for his name when he was covering his mouth and then mouthing something. She wasn't the best at reading lips, though she could catch a word here and there. But these ones combined with the hand movement had even Mylorah catching on and she gave a softly gasped, 'oh' when she realised. "You can't speak? That's okay. My dad's mate can't either so we're getting better at lip reading, well, 'better' isn't much when you sucked at it to begin with. But he also likes writing. Do you have paper or--" she frowned again when the boy shook his head. She was going to offer to find some but given how young he looked, there was a strong chance he was never taught the basics. She had helped Fetch with his reading and learned that a lot of Holds didn't see it as necessary for certain jobs and stations in life.
"Are you okay with a dragon speaking to you?" It was the only other option she could think of outside of just asking him yes and no questions. While she was sure that could get them somewhere and learn more about each other, it would possibly also get old fast. Asking if each colour was his favourite would get old after the third guess. Thankfully he nodded and Mylorah was back to smiling and took his hand to run outside. The stables weren't exactly near the weyrs the goldriders were in but close enough that her voice should carry up to the dragon she wanted. "Malvayth! I need your help!" Mylorah had a feeling people were used to hearing someone yell the gold's name but not so much the asking for help.I'm very busy modelling eye patches for Cazan. It's important! But I'll send Taith. He's still waiting for his.
She probably should have expected such a reply and chuckled as she watched the adorable blue leave Malvayth's ledge. "That's Taith. He's super friendly and will help pass messages on. Even if it's just to tell me to go away." She stuck her tongue out at her new friend and then waved at Taith as he landed and waddled over to them.
Hi, Mylo! Malvayth said you need help. Are you okay? Mylorah explained the situation and Taith did a little happy dance where he stood, excited to be useful and meet a new friend. Hello! I'm Taith. My rider is Kor'is but he's off visiting his friend Sh'ran right now. What's your name? How are you?
