Talian reeled as the voice hit him. His hand shot up to his forehead, as is staving off a headache, and his eyes closed tightly. It was the same voice that attacked him on the isle, that one that momentarily panicked him into believing himself crazy. He knew better now, though. He'd picked up enough information about the creatures to realized that they could indeed talk, and their words came through the mind. He didn't understand how it was possible, and on a good day he might have been curious.
Unfortunately, this was not a good day. B'jin's fear was realized, for Larrikith's little outburst almost instantly sent the boy back into his shell. If he didn't hate dragons already, he certainly did now. "..Tell that animal," he said, gritting his teeth against the unpleasant headache that had washed over him, "To never speak to me again. I can't handle it," he said through gritted teeth, as close to angry as he could bring himself to be. Instead, he was just crushed; utterly defeated, unwilling to expend any more effort to befriend this greenrider. It wasn't worth it if this is what it got him.
That was how dragonriders rewarded asking questions, it would seem.
He rubbed his eyes slowly and tried to steady his breath. He noticed B'jin about to talk and recoiled accordingly. "...I can't talk to you anymore. Not if you're going to sic that monster on me each time I disagree with you!" he stammered defensively.
