Despite the envy that sometimes crept up on him while he watched more and more people walk off with a dragon mate, Orgailian found it fascinating to watch it happen. Sometimes he could see the exact moment the bond was made, the human's eyes growing wide or perhaps starting to cry. His favourite reaction was a toss up between dropping to knees to hug the dragonet and annoyance at how messy the dragonet was. The sigh and halfhearted attempt to wipe sand off a snout was pretty amusing.
He also wondered about the ones that seemed to take a long time finding their mate. They were taught dragons needed the human mind to anchor them but how long could they last fresh from the shell? Maybe their minds had an immediate connection but the human wasn't aware until a pudgy dragonet was at their feet staring at them or calling their name across the grounds. He thought about that when a blue took his time and then a green a bit later on. He tried to look inward but didn't notice anything different so Orgailian doubted he was the intended for the green.
When someone took his hand, Orgailian startled and looked down at it and then up to his sister. Was she okay? She'd had a rough week to put it mildly and maybe she shouldn't be Standing or standing. Then again, Mylorah could be the sentimental sort and something had triggered her need to be close to her brothers. Orgailian looked passed her at Zoremet and gave a small shrug when their gazes met.
Wait. Was she the green's mate? He eyed her again, trying to see what was going on with her. No way the green was for her. If he was going to be a colourist, Mylorah would be a goldrider or maybe a bluerider. She was badass enough for either. Did hoping she didn't Impress a green make him a good or bad brother?
