"Okay!" he said jovially with a chuckle when her stomach voiced exactly what she needed even as Ferra said it out loud. He didn't mind when she jerked her hand away and only smiled at her as she struggled to find her words. She was an interesting girl, one D'io had every intention of getting to know better. He still needed to know why she blushed so often and why he found it so adorable. "Shirrikath would love that," he said with a nod and started to stand, "He's been getting a bit bored now anyway and he still wants to see you."
He didn't wait for any type of argument to come from Ferra and he was certain there would have been a large amount of it had he offered to carry her. Instead, D'io reached down and scooped her up and into his arms without so much as a by-your-leave. He chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his neck, the thump of the book against his back bringing a please grunt from him. He wasn't sure if she would be able to keep hold of it and he was pleased she had.
"Why would I warn you?" he asked with heavy amusement, "If I warned you I wouldn't get to hear that adorable squeak every time." He bounced her slightly, adjusting his grip before he started out of the room, eyes finding the shelf and placement of the other book. He was coming back to grab that once they were finished and he was ready to leave, he would need to know where it was.
"Do you always read by yourself?" he asked as they came to the kitchens and D'io asked for some food, "Or would no one else read with you?"
