I know… I know! Mylorah mentally screamed in response to all of her worries being tossed back at her, causing her to be more anxious than she already was. She’d been trying to hide it from everyone, trying to keep her upbeat attitude and smile in place so everyone else could relax and not worry about her or a situation they were in. But there was just so much happening right now!
And was she paying enough attention to her loved ones?
She tried but what if someone was feeling neglected? What if she was giving one person too much attention? She would have to check in with everyone. Did she need to make a list to make sure no one was missed?
What? Singing?
Mylorah would never call herself talented when it came to singing but she enjoyed it with friends but now didn’t seem to be the right time for it—until she swore she heard humming. The hum of a dragon was so soothing and signalled a happy event. It was the direct opposite to their horrible keening when a fellow dragon died—the sound that could haunt her dreams and bring up memories at the worst times. But that humming was nice. Calming. It reminded her she was doing the best she could and there were many positives to focus on.
By the time she took her hand away from the shell, Mylorah was softly humming to herself. A small smile tugged at her lips as she walked over to the gold egg to stand in line behind a couple of girls, still humming a jovial song that always made her want to dance. When it was her turn to touch the gold egg, her steps had a bit more bounce to them as she pretended she was on the dance floor, focusing on good times with her loved ones.
