Rhaedalyn was still worried about the visiting blue pair that was struck by lightning but she knew they were being tended to and Semath was updating Aradissicath and Xyreith so their attention could remain on the happier event. It wouldn't do to diminish this moment for all the Candidates, especially those that Impressed.
While she wouldn't call it a silence with the humming dragons and whispered comments about the Hatching and injury outside, the eggs did quiet down. It seemed like less cracking of shells or grunts of struggle of little ones trying to break free. It stretched on for fifteen minutes untilfour blues decided they wouldn't be upstaged by their sisters and started popping out almost as rapidly as the seven greens of earlier.
They were a bit rowdier, playing with each other and racing toward the same groups of boys before veering off in their various directions.Blue07 and Blue08 ran by Corvilis, one stopping a bit away from him while the other continued on a bit further until his boy bent down and hugged him. Blue09 and Blue10 scattered in opposite directions, one playfully darting around a group of girls to get to his boy standing behind them while the other skidded to a dramatic stop and fell on his face in front of his mate.
Green21 wiggled her way out of Egg 33 and gave an adorable yawn before going on her way and Impressing. Green22 wasn't far behind as she left Egg 41 a few minutes later to find her mate among a group of girls and boys. For a moment there seemed to be some confusion about who had Impressed as the green chatted with a wide-eyed girl who kept nodding at the hatchling. It wasn't until the hatchling left with a boy that they figured out where the bond had landed.
With that green intermission out of the way,Blue11, Blue12, and Blue13 joined in on the blue wave that sent them all to the same group of boys, Impressing to what Rhaedalyn knew were a pair of brothers and she suspected the third boy was a friend of theirs with the way they all cheered and laughed as they moved off together.
Only two eggs remained and as the minutes ticked by, Rhaedalyn felt the pressure mounting. Would they hatch? Aradissicath was known to have a dud or two in some of her clutches, would these be counted among them? Aradissicath wouldn't let them call it, however. The eggs were cracked and she knew the babies were still fine, just tired.
Several more minutes passed and Egg 24 finally started moving again andBrown05 spilled out. He seemed frustrated at the delay and entrance, kicking at the sand as he got to his feet but that mood seemed to pass as his gaze shot right to the man he knew was his and walked there with his head held high. No undignified racing around for this fellow!
And while the ending wasn't quite as impactful as the beginning--or the explosion in the middle--the final egg, Egg 25, finally found it time to debutGreen23 . To further punctuate her slow start, she meandered along, stopping to sniff at some of the discarded shells, greeting Candidates that she passed, and finally stopping at a boy that had been smiling the entire time as he watched his lifemate leave her impression on others after Impressing on him.
