It seemed like the greens weren’t done as three more greens were soon showing their adorable faces. They were calmer than their sisters, if just barely, two going off in the same direction while the third went to another group to find her mate. Again, everything went smoothly and Rhaedalyn bit her lip at the thought, worried about jinxing the remainder of their time together. They were just over halfway through and anything could still happen.
AsBrown03 emerged from egg 34, Rhaedalyn held her breath and hoped he wasn’t as grumpy as the last one. He didn’t appear to be as he delicately crawled free of the shell and stepped around the remnants of others before coming to a halt and sitting down. A boy finally stepped forward, asking the hatchling to come to him and he shook his head before insisting he wouldn’t go near that group. The boy was frowning but went to the dragon and led him off in a long roundabout way to where the feeding buckets awaited him. As they passed, Rhaedalyn caught the explanation of not thinking some of those boys trustworthy or worthy in general. She eyed the Candidates and wondered if they needed to better check up on Candidates and more frequently.
Green18 and Green19 took that moment to add to the green caravan that seemed to be taking place with small interruptions of bronze and brown. She hadn’t been tracking them clearly but Rhaedalyn was willing to bet they weren’t the last but among the last of the greens they would see. She smiled as they also found their mates with little confusion.
Egg 10 wobbled and fell over to spillBronze03 onto the sand. He looked a little dazed and wobbled himself when he stood. But he seemed fine as he went toward Madelan and then Impressed to a boy standing near him.
Surprising no one,Green20 came along next, escaping Egg 7 in a very ungraceful manner. She ended up head-butting Egg 40 which helped Blue05 break free but only after his egg joined in the game of dominoes and toppled into Egg 12 which Brown04 was just working out of. All three hatchlings were very vocal about the mess they were in and a bit of screeching and tail lashing took place before they separated and went to their mates.
Blue06 stealthily snuck free of Egg 26 during the fight, waiting until it seemed like his siblings weren’t going to truly attack each other or him as he peered out from behind another egg. He followed his clumsy sister and while she found her mate quickly, he took a bit longer, keening as panic started to set in until a younger boy dashed across the sand and threw his arms around the blue’s neck in a tight hug. Rhaedalyn gave a sigh of relief as they avoided losing that one.
