By the golden eggshell of Faranth herself...why did they have to be at such a very public Gather?! Resisting the urge to roll his eyes at this sudden inconvenience, he chuckled instead at how absolutely remarkable the whole chance encounter was.
Her touch sent an involuntary shiver through him, and he smiled with the pleasure of it, choosing to drink in what he could have in that moment instead of dwelling on what he couldn’t. “Hmmm..” Rolling his head back on his shoulders, he took it as an invitation. He pulled her against him until there was no space between the two, letting his hands wander from her back down to her hips, fingertips lightly brushing the small of her back.
“Can’t say as I’ve felt at home much anywhere, myself, traveling as much as I do...and Runner Stations aren’t always the most homey of places.” The idea of one of her delightful lamps throwing little colored points of light across an interior brightened his smile a bit. “And pardon me for my boldness in saying this—after all, we have only just met...but you’re beginning to feel a lot like home.” He held her gaze for long moment before leaning down and pressing first one, then another gentle kiss to her jawline before making his way to her lips once more. Hungry, insistent, but still reserved, given the setting he was far too aware of, he held her for as long as she’d let him.
