"Benden is rather lovely and continues to surprise me as we explore and tidy up." She nodded, her smile merry as could be. "It's a pleasure to meet you Alekse, Journeyman Runner. Ahh, perhaps I'll be seeing you at Benden, then. You're right about the growth and Benden Hold isn't far as well. With the Weyr developing this quickly, people wanting a change are in for a delight. Besides, the Vinters aren't far away either and that makes for good wine and ale made locally. When it opened up, Zarel, my daughter, wanted nothing but to go to Benden. She's ten turns on her and thinks the world of the new quarters. I think Dannel, her father, is still Standing at Ista, but we've lost touch over the turns."
They swirled and dipped and she was very light on her feet, easily moving through steps as she trusted his lead. When he stepped closer, she flushed a little but turned a wee curtsy, laughing.
"Thank you, Alekse, your lead was wonderful." She glanced to the group of people and laughed softly. "Let them notice. They can be jealous all they want. Oh, that felt good but it's thirsty work."
As the music dipped into another set, she met his eyes with a wink and a step towards the tables, leaving a hand in his. It wasn't like they couldn't dance more after an ale or two. There was nothing that satisfied her most after a wonderful dance than quenching her thirst and talking while she took a breather or two. Besides, a great deal could be talked about at a table that other mightn't hear.
"This Benden candidate comes for furs and trinket for my daughter. How could I miss a Gather anywhere? I don't think Zarel would forgive me for it." Just the look she'd get was enough. Zarel was intelligent enough to know Gathers mean her mother would go to trade or exchange marks for lovely little things. But Zahrah getting warmer blankets was the real haul, here, even if the bracelet was darling.
