Of fucking course he couldn't even get a proper night's rest because of those damned eggs. They were still better than Thallyath's lot but Kordiavis didn't have a high opinion of these ones either from the one egg he Touched. Yesterday. The Touching was fucking yesterday and here they were getting up before the sun because the little bastards couldn't even follow protocol.
He debated flipping off the assistant that came through to make sure they were moving but he refrained. He wasn't in Ista where people feared his mother so he had to follow the rules to some degree. Besides, he wasn't going to leave Mylorah in someone else's care when it all went to shit like nearly every other Hatching.
That didn't mean he was going to rush, however. He dressed, ran a comb through his hair, and then grabbed one of the muffins brought down to them to take his time on while he sucked back a cup of klah to help wake him up. He was yawning a lot more than not but slowly Kordiavis was starting to feel like a human again.
Once the mug was empty, he headed to the Sands and wasn't that surprised to see a fair amount of Candidates already there. Some people had way too much energy at this hour and were just excited in general about baby dragons. Sure, they were cute, in a murderous rampaging sort of way. All right, they were actually cute once they grew out of that brief phase but Kordiavis still wasn't nearly as anxious to meet them.
Not many of the out-of-towners had arrived in the stands yet, he noticed as he claimed a spot that was a good distance from the eggs and other Candidates but also gave him a clearer path to freedom if another gold wanted to rampage--and there were two this time to worry about. He didn't have to wonder if Tazikel would come, knowing T'ryn would be running around to get the lordling because Mylorah had requested it. Kordiavis hadn't seen him since leaving Tillek Hold after their very eventful end-of-turn celebrations and he wasn't sure how he'd feel about that either.
The day was going to suck and there was just no way around it.
