Thankfully, T’ryn agreed to the hug, even if he was a little awkward about it. That was alright though, there was always time to get more practice with hugging. And T’ryn had plenty of friends happy to help him practice. Like R’dal, who had just arrived!
“R’dal!” Misha called out as the bluerider came over to join the hug, laughing as he got a bit squished between his two friends. Hug squishing was good squishing. It was an excellent hug, and Misharan was relieved to notice how T’ryn relaxed a bit instead of being so uptight about hugging. R’dal was great at helping people feel more comfortable, it was an amazing skill, and in that moment Misha was very grateful for it. He didn’t want T’ryn to have a bad hug experience with him! Only good hugs allowed, especially since T’ryn needed more good hugs in his life.
He released his hold on T’ryn when the bronzerider started moving away, letting him escape the hug. Wouldn’t do to make him overly uncomfortable by trapping him in a hug. Instead, Misharan focused on the most recently arrived friend.
“Hi,” Misha smiled, wrapping his arms tighter around R’dal now that there was only one other person in the hug and giving him a kiss on the cheek (unlike T’ryn, R’dal didn’t mind), “Glad you could make it. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of chances to meet your friend. Maybe next time I’m in Ista you can introduce me. I don’t even need to be in Ista, you can come borrow me whenever, you know how flexible my schedule is.”
“Oh?” he said excitedly, impatiently waiting as R’dal dug through his pocket. Misharan liked getting things for any occasion, but birthday gifts were extra fun. Most holidays were about the holiday, but a birthday was all about you! When the present was revealed, Misha ‘ooohhhh’ed happily, holding out his arm so R’dal could fasten it around his wrist. It was so cool! And R’dal made it! “This is so cool, R’dal!” Misha said, twisting the bracelet around his wrist to see all of it better. “Thank you!” And Misharan gave R’dal another hug.
