Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! “Hmn,” F’drel said, keeping a close eye on Halomirth instead of making any sort of eye contact with T’ryn, “something tells me she’s usually fairly successful.” If only because F’drel was almost positive Mylorah didn’t accept failure in this area, and would keep pushing and meddling until everyone gave up and did what she wanted. Though she was also paying him more attention now that F’drel actually had something resembling a friend, so apparently success wasn’t a deterrent either. She just really liked meddling, F’drel decided.
It wasn’t until T’ryn answered his question about R’dal — sounded like it was only the once, thank fuck, though F’drel wasn’t convinced that meant R’dal didn’t talk about him to people other than T’ryn more often— that F’drel realized how fucking desperate it made him sound. ‘Does he talk about me?’ Blegh. Maybe T’ryn wouldn’t think anything of it and it would be fine. Or maybe it would be better if T’ryn thought he was dating his friend? T’ryn might be the sort to keep an eye out for his friends’ significant others, which might keep some of the undesirables away. Maybe. Unless T’ryn — or M’ris, and wouldn’t that be terrifying — thought he was cheating on R’dal, which would likely go horribly for F’drel, but then again weyr relationships were so complicated anyway it might not even register as a problem. Fuck, why did having friends have to be so complicated? Staying a recluse sounded so much less stressful. Too bad Miri wouldn’t let him hole up in his weyr forever. Besides, even if he did there were plenty of people who had no qualms about inviting themselves into his home.
So of course, here he was sitting next to the lake with a bronzerider because he was an idiot and his overly friendly dragon was blotting out any vestiges of sense he had left with her sheer enthusiasm and innocence. Stupid green would get him seriously hurt one day and F’drel wouldn't even be able to blame her for it. He sighed, before freezing when he realized it had been several long seconds and he hadn’t responded to T’ryn. Fuck.
“I had to get an extra pillow, he’s over so often,” F’drel admitted, trying to play the topic off as not serious in addition to as being clear that actual sleeping was happening. Though if T’ryn was a good friend of R’dal’s he was probably well aware of the bluerider’s fondness for friend-naps — unless that was something he only did with F’drel, but he was pretty sure R’dal had mentioned it wasn’t at least once. Honestly, the image of R’dal roping bronzeriders into naps was pretty entertaining. Maybe F’drel would have to ask the bluerider sometime. If he found a way to ask that didn’t sound fucking possessive or whatever. Probably wouldn’t even occur to R’dal, but F’drel didn’t want to risk it. Or maybe he could learn some of the answers from T’ryn. “Has he always been like that?” F’drel asked.
In sheer contrast to her rider, Halomirth didn’t at all think beyond the surface level of what was said. Syrendryth didn’t have to worry about appearing undignified or making T’ryn look bad; the thoughts would never even occur to Halomirth. She had no real sense of dignity (or lack thereof), and she’d think letting the lake help with bathing was clever, not lazy! The green nodded her head excitedly at the permission to swim with the bronze and waded after him into the deeper water. She hummed happily as she paddled around in the lake, periodically making comments or asking questions of the bronze, doing her best to make friends with Syrendryth. The day was going great!
