R’dare gave an exaggerated sigh with an eye roll at the completely predictable response to his question. Of course the damn man wouldn’t tell him anything! Why would he do such a thing like share fun information with a friend? They weren’t as close as he was with R’dal and N’mor was to T’ryn, but they still had some crazy adventures together in the past that had to count for something. As he wondered if T’ryn knew the scoop on who N’mor liked, R’dare took another swig of wine, finding it went down a bit easier with a larger gulp than a sip. It also didn’t hurt that he was eating while doing so.
“Me? I could pull the same answer as you but then we’d be left simply staring at each other so I guess I could spill some beans,” he paused to top up his glass, though he hadn’t quite finished the first serving. It was almost as if he was fooling himself. In his mind he was on the second glass but it wasn’t nearly as much as that. Which was a good thing considering he still had to be well enough in his right mind to fly them home safely.
“Nothing serious, of course, but there are a few interests,” mostly, it was interest in him, not from him, but R’dare didn’t feel like pointing that out. “And Daisi’s started chasing so that’s been… fun.” It wasn’t that he hated it, in fact he was proud to have a dragon that was ready to chase and finally, hopefully, remind the Weyrfolk that he wasn’t just one of the pesky ‘brats running about but an actual adult now. It was just that he didn’t have much say in who Kadaisicalth showed an interest in and he hadn’t quite mastered the fine art of losing and picking someone appropriate.
