His stomach churned from the knowledge of what was going to happen. This was going to only make him feel more ill when this public display began. Erisi hadn't wanted to bear witness to this, but Talian had insisted he come. He was a good enough of a friend to pull through for the Healer now, but he wasn't happy. The discomfort he felt was written clearly on his face, even his posture was unnaturally rigid. Erisi stood beside Talian without a thing to say, which was always a bad sign when concerning Erisi. He was one to voice his opinion of events at every opportunity - he was a bit of a born gossip, the vindictive kind. This, however, was something he did not even want to touch.
Instead of pulling the Weyr together like it needed to be, D'ren was going to divide it further by issuing harsh physical punishments on those who misbehaved and stepped out of line. If there was ever a reason to hate Katila Weyr, here was one. Erisi didn't like the Weyr, but he tended to think he knew what was right for it. This was only going to seed dissent. Enough people were remaining in line that there was no need for B'jin to be made an example of. The people who didn't agree with how Katila Weyr ran were numerous, but very few were open about their opinion. It very well could have been Erisi being put up for a whipping instead of B'jin, considering the conflicts he had stirred.
That was an unsettling thought.
"Are you sure you want to be here for this?" he asked Talian through gritted teeth. He was frustrated, uncomfortable, and this really did not sit well with him. He would have stayed in his barrack to avoiding bearing witness to what was about to happen. If he now wasn't so scared of receiving the treatment B'jin was bound for, he would have voiced his thoughts. Erisi was the type of person to walk right up to D'ren and inform him of how he felt - but that... clearly was not an option.
Erisi had a nice body. He wasn't going to risk scarring it just so D'ren could send a violent message to all of the inhabitans of Katila Weyr.
