D'ren raised an eyebrow at Lym's delicately worded question. Oh, it had been far too long since a nervous youngster had asked that question! While his administrative side knew he should probably turn her down, since he had better things to do than take people on pleasure rides, it really took him back. He could remember being a simple wingrider or wingsecond back at his home weyr in the north, constantly queried by weyrbrats and candidates about just such an opportunity.
For old times' sake, why not?
"Well," he said, shifting closer and placing one hand beside Ronarth's eye. He decided to answer her question first. "They're faceted. Look closely, you can see many small spots that all shift colors...That shows what kind of mood he's in," he said. "Green is content, blue is happy...red is angry, and so forth," he said gently. He smiled, then slapped Ronarth's neck. "...And I don't see why not. Ronarth?"
The dragon crooned and lowered his neck, allowing them to step up. D'ren motioned for Lymsleia to go first. "Just climb right up there," he said, motioning to the depression at the back of the dragon's neck. "You can use his leg to step up. He won't mind," he said, motioning to Ronarth's foreleg. The dragon held it up horizontally, providing Lymsleia with a step-up.
