R’nd had long ago become accustomed to T’bia’s babbling when he was excited and only smiled as the boy continued explaining what was in store for his day. There was a time back in Candidate classes that R’nd always went home wide-eyed from babble overload and at the same time was exhausted at having to deal with the questions and working a bit harder and longer at making sure Thobiahz knew everything and could handle the dragonet he soon Impressed. R’nd couldn’t pinpoint when it happened but somewhere along the journey he took a shining to the boy and all of his quirks. T’bia just loved to learn everything he could and his enthusiasm took over a tad too much at times. It was the same way when he was talking about something he liked.
It was also great to hear T’bia was spending time with his father. R’nd always worried their relationship was strained for whatever reason was decided on that day but it seemed dear old dad was accepting his son that was a bluerider and a member of a wing that wasn’t doing as poorly as T’bia always feared he was. “That sounds like an excellent day, T’bia,” he replied genuinely when the flushed boy finally finished. “You’ll have to tell me about the runners later, especially the one that’s a different colour. We unique characters have to stick together.”
R’nd slipped back down into the water up to his neck as he settled in beside T’bia once more. “Maybe I should send Ayyonth with you so you can deal with his antics for the day. Jycenth can keep him under control while you and your dad venture off to the runners and I can have a semi-quiet day with a pretty lady,” R’nd chuckled at the idea that came to him when Ayyonth started teasing him about Rell waking and how he was considering sending the flitter to the pools instead of telling him to eat. It didn’t really matter though since he had to be getting out soon anyway to grab a quick bite to eat before greeting Rhaedalyn for their day out together. Rell was invited to that outing, however, since the blue was a bit shy and needed to make friends. Rhaedalyn came with three that he could play with and that would hopefully make everyone happy.
