The wine was just what he needed, even if it was a bit sharp as it washed across his tongue and down his throat. If there was one positive about returning North it was that they would have access to some decent wine once again. This stuff did the job, but it lacked the depth and quality of a wine made by someone who cared about more than just the alcohol content. He turned on his heels as K'tir spoke, snorting softly as he shook his head. No K'tir was not the reason, not that he really needed one these days.
"Of course, though I should warn you it's nothing special. Ran out of the good stuff so long ago I can hardly remember what it was like anymore." N'del answered as he found another glass, setting his own down as he poured one for K'tir. He couldn't recall if the man had a weyrmate or a particular attachment to anyone, not that such things really mattered during a flight. He somehow doubted it since the man didn't seem to be in much hurry to depart, though N'del seriously doubted it was his own company that held K'tir's interest. Not when the Weyr was full of plenty of young and unattached young men and women.
N'del retrieve his own glass a limped back toward the bed, doing his best to disguise that he was favoring one leg. He handed the man his glass before easing back down onto the bed. He took a sip from his glass, mulling over what would be a safe topic for this situation. "Are you and Gheath planning on returning North?" He asked after a moment. It was one of the more popular subjects at the moment. Some riders were eager to return while others seemed happy to remain in the lush South. It sounded as if the Katila would be maintained, but as what was still up in the air. A full fledged Weyr? A retirement home for older riders? A dumping grounds for misfits? Only time would tell.
