B’jin frowned at D’hys for teasing him, but the expression quickly morphed into that of a pout as he was informed – once again – that the cake needed more time before it would be ready to come out… then it would need even more time to cool down before they could ice it?! The greenrider’s expression was quite comical as he stared at D’hys in dismayed irritation. Cooking was rapidly becoming less and less delightful and far more of a chore. No wonder he had always left it to N’mall to take care of! That was more because you were impatient and either undercooked things, or got side-tracked and burned them, Larrikith inserted dryly, drawing on B’jin’s memories to point out the greenrider’s flaws. B’jin shoved her away from the forefront of his mind.
The beginning of D’hys’ warning about cooling the cake between had brown eyes sparkling with delight and anticipation. Larrikith could take it for a quick trip and bring it back just waiting to be iced and it would be fantastic and B’jin’s thought was cut off mid ramble as D’hys finished his warning and B’jin glared at him. “You suck,” he stated firmly, clearly dismayed by all the waiting, and returned his attention to cleaning out the bowl of batter. It was nearly done with, and by the time D’hys had finished framing his question for time-passing, B’jin was setting the bowl aside and staring cross-eyed down his nose as he held his hand carefully away from himself. Uncrossing his eyes, B’jin gave D’hys a one shoulder shrug, and slipped off the bench so he could wash his hands and face in the basin.
“I dunno, it’s your house.” B’jin flicked the other man a slightly amused frown over his shoulder before drying his hands on the little hand towel and wandering back to the table. Flopping into a seat on the other side of the table, B’jin blinked at the bluerider. “Whatever you normally do to pass time while cooking, I suppose.” He waved a hand absently, lolling his head to one side to give D’hys a slightly bemused look, before smiling at Shimmer, who chirped happily.
