It seemed this particualr clutch was as anxious to find their lifemates and step into the new world, as the Weyrfolk were, if only so they could all go back to their nice warm beds, away from the developing thunderstorm. The Less Is More egg took to wriggling fanatically where it was located, while the I'll Be There infant finally decided that showing himself to the world outside of his eggshell was what needed to be done. The deep breath the little fellow took was certainly lost within the sounds of the next rolling clap of thunder, but he seemed intent on escaping his shell, and as the echoes of the grumpy sky faded away, the little blue pushed himself free of his egg, and wriggled into a standing position. Even as I'll Be There gathered his feet under himself, Less Is More fought her way free of her own egg shells, and toppled into the sands at her brother's feet.
The two Hatchlings stared at each other for several moments, beforeLess Is More chriped a greeting, and gathered her feet under herself. I'll Be There leaned forward, nosing her side gently to help her up, before chittering just as cheerfully as he turned and made a beeline towards his chosen human. Literally following his lead, the green hatchling trotted after her bother, before veering off suddenly to sniff at the ankle of Ryvian.
WhileLess Is More was distracted by the smell lingering around Ryvian's feet, the Never Give Up egg finally had enough, and a firm headbutt to the top of his shell took off the cap, and a bronze head popped out with wide eyed surprise. The youngster looked around curiously, before his movements unbalanced his egg, and Never Give Up fell over sideways, the egg splintering as it hit the sand, so all the youngster within had to do was wriggle, and the cracks spread before his shell crumpled around him. Flailing a little, he finally managed to clamber to his feet as Less Is More seemed to have enough of Ryvian and trotted off past him to snuffle around the feet of Bordtai for several moments, sitting back at one point, she considered him seriously, before lifting herself up on her haunches and pushing him over with a shove to the chest. When he went sprawling, she gave a chitter of amusement, turned tail, and trotted to the far side of the Hatching Sands to Impress to a befuddled looking young man.
Never Give Up clearly frowned after his sister, and made his way over to where Bordtai was sprawled in the sand. That certainly wouldn't do! Circling the youngster, the bronze nosed Bordtai from behind until he was on his feet once more, wet sand sticking to him. The dragonet nodded to himself, gave a pleased hum, and then strode quite confidently over to his chosen human. He stood patiently while he was gawked at, before being lead off towards the side line to be fed. They had a lifetime for gawking at one another! Food please!
While the second bronze hatchling was the centre of attention, Pay It Forward, All Is Well and Never Give Up all managed to crack shell at once, a pile of blue and green wings and limbs flailing in every which direction as wet sand went flying. Chitters, chirps and questioning squeaks filled the air.Pay It Forward was the first to find his feet, and he backed up swiftly from his still flailing sisters, unintentionally bumping into the Knowledge Is Power egg, and sending it tumbling into the Truly, Madly, Deeply egg. They cracked against one another, sending puzzle lines zig-zagging over both shells just moments before another massive boom of thunder slammed across the skies. The blinding flash of lightning that followed before the sound had even began to echo caused the Pay It Forward hatchling to screech in fear, and go charging off towards the line of boys. He sent one sprawling, before running head first into another, trembling in terror.
The two greens -All Is Well and Never Give Up - also squealed at the sudden, blinding light, and shot off in opposite directions, with All Is well clearly Impressing as she came to a trembling halt at the feet of one youngster, though the Never Give Up was more questionable, as she trembled between the knees of Ryvian. Apparently, she had Impressed to another, however, who came striding over purposefully to extract his little dragonet from the other boy's personal space.
Truly Madly Deeply had hatched in all the commotion, and while the thunderclap and lightening had certainly spooked his siblings, he seemed much less worried about such things, as he sat calmly and thoughtfully considering everything. As Knowledge Is Power fought to Hatch, the Truly, Madly, Deeply dragonet climbed to his feet and made his way thoughtfully towards Indamor, who backed up several steps when he realised the dragonet was coming for him. The sudden furious screech that sounded from the freshly hatched Knowledge Is Power put breaks on both blue and boy.
Truly, Madly, Deeply danced sideways and out of the way as Knowledge Is Power made it quite clear he was prepared to draw blood if need be; with the blue in no mood to be bleeding, he flicked his wing dismissively and turned away, Impressing to a surprised looking boy not a few paces away. Knowledge Is Power sneered in the direction the blue had gone, before pointedly glaring at his new bonded.
As fast as it had begun, the Hatching was over -- with all twenty-seven eggs safely Hatched and Impressed, there would certainly be much to celebrate the following day.
