Nevani was pulled from her thoughts as someone passed in front of her closer than anyone else had of yet this morning. Then for a few seconds, in pure shock, her mouth hung open as she realized that B'jin was that person. This wasn't how she expected to find him, and for a moment her courage faltered, and so she took another sip of her klah watching him feed his firelizard. A hesitation to better gather her courage. She would of course be blunt in her question, Nevani wasn't one to beat around the bush, however, she was uncertain if he man would be willing to actually help her, in the very likely case that her first request was declined. She knew that there was no hiding the fact that she she was still a virgin, of all the rumors about her, none even suggested that she was anything but a virgin. Or so she was lead to believe from the whisperings she had heard.
As she watched, the little firelizard eat daintily, she began to feel some of her courage build back. The little creature was very much like a miniature queen, and seeing her eating was somehow peaceful. For a moment all thoughts of the questions she wished to ask were put away in her mind, though briefly as she realized that this might be her only chance to ask what she needed to ask. She took another sip of her klah, feeling the warm liquid go down her throat, and focused on the exact question she would ask. Surely, she told herself, no harm could come from at least asking, and if she didn't ask, she would probably never get to stand on the sands for a hatching. This was far more scarey than two questions that were perhaps very unexpected from the seemingly sleepy B'jin who was tending to his little queen.
Further, she told herself, it was unlikely that he would slap her for asking if he knew anyone who was looking for what she would be looking for if he declined her first question. After all, asking for that type of information wasn't the same as asking for sex like she had before when she did get slapped. Surely, there wasn't a way the man could find this inquiry that offensive, and if he did, well, she would then try to ask help from one of the queen riders. If she looked hard enough, surely a way would be found.
Finally, she managed to gather her courage, and trying to be unobtrusive, she moved quietly closer before softly saying, "Excuse me, B'jin, would you have a moment? I wanted to ask something..." Her normally confident posture definitely wasn't how she now carried herself, her shoulders even if slightly were slumped, and her face showed her fear and worry. A hand went to push her hair back uneasily almost as soon as she had finished speaking. She of course would wait for his answer before asking, it was only polite, and she was hoping to gain any favor that she could. This was after all, a matter of a dream.
All of her fears flashed in her mind as she awaited his answer, had she been a dragon, her eyes would have been a pulsating rainbow of colors from all the worries flashing through her mind. Her hand lowered, finding her hair already behind her ear, and she tried to take a deep breath to calm herself. Social interactions were bad enough, but to have such an important query to go along with it made her very uncomfortable. As she thought about her second question, her cheeks flared up in a blush though she hadn't even asked it yet. She wondered if she could get herself to actually put the thoughts into words now that she was face to face with the man. She then tried just as soon as they flooded her to push them away, fighting for her courage to remain with her.
