Vee never quite knew what to expect when she touched an egg. Sometimes she received a response that wa promising, though ultimately disappointing in the end. Other times she was made to feel like she should have stayed home.
The response she received from this egg was a little bit of both, as her initially tough of the egg received an annoyed response from the dragon within and left her feeling she should withdraw. However as another moment passed by she felt something different, it felt as if she was surprised, either at the touch to her shell, or to Vee's presense. Vee had no idea which it could be, but she had to grin a bit, imagining the look on the little gold's face.
Where she had initially thought to move away, she stayed still instead, as she felt the little queens presence in her mind. She could sense the curiousity, and it made Vee's heart beat faster with growing hope that maybe this time she wouldn't fail. The interest she felt in response to the greeting she had given, which now seemed to echo through her mind made Vee smile. She was curious too, she wished to see the gold hatch and see what kind of dragon she would become, hers or not.
When she finally moved to go, for she could not stay with the egg all day, she whispered a soft, "See you soon.", and slowly pulled her hand away, her heart dropping with a hint of sadness at the feeling of disappointment at her leaving. She looked back at the egg for a moment then turned to get out of the way. She gave Alerae an encouraging smile and stepped back to her place to wait for the other gold candidates to finish their touching of the egg.
