Casa was still not sleeping well, but she knew the Touching was coming up, and tried to make sure that she could rest at least somewhat well beforehand. When the nightmares had come - this time, they had all featured that moment when Indivara touched the egg and it simply fell away - she just lay there, trembling, waiting until it was time to rise. The thought of her duplicating the act made her sick to her stomach, but she had been told by many to just give it one more try, just be patient, all would be well in the world...
As the day became light enough to be rainy but not pitch-black, she rose and stiffly began to dress. Kaylee and Edge cooed softly from the bed, helping her by hopping around the clothes she laid out and nuzzling up against her. She flashed a rare enough smile, fingers gently running along their eye ridges, before she snuggled down into the many layers she had planned out - one of the new pairs of leather trousers, two tunics, and a thick cloak. She then pulled on layers to protect against wet feet and took her time lacing up her boots, trying to feel as confident as she could.
She managed to maintain the facade until she reached the cool, wet air outside. Almost instantly, she began to panic, realizing she was heading towards the place where it had happened not all that long ago. Her steps were slow, barely trudging along the ground. What if she did it again? After all, she was a Gold candidate - that meant she had to touch the Gold egg! The thought of an egg simply crumpling away made her feel very sick, and she had to stop, trying to breathe. For a while, she simply sat there, unsure what to do, tears on her face.
Eventually, however, it was cold enough to get her moving again. Knack slowly crept up to curl very tightly around her throat, and the other two burst into the air, coming to snuggle together in the hood of the cloak lying against her back. Their presence soothed her enough to get going again, and she continued her reluctant pilgrimage to the Sands. Once she passed into the entryway, her heart skipped a beat to see where the flood had been - surely the eggs were alright? Had they been moved? Her uneasy gaze finally settled on them and the group, and relief flickered through her briefly. Maybe she would be okay yet.
