Surprisingly, R’nd didn’t see himself being called a child by B’jin and seeing the wicked look he was given only helped to verify he was right in thinking that way. He knew he was younger than B’jin but never put much thought into what the actual age gap was or how there was a chance his lover had children the same age as him. It helped that B’jin didn’t look much older than him, though R’nd was too laid back and versatile to be bothered by the age even if there were physical indicators.
“Tired of behaving and keeping my hands from wandering on you,” R’nd gave a devilish grin as he made a show of eyeing up the greenrider before adding, “or perhaps nap time is just my new ploy of getting you into my bed sooner rather than later.” He knew there wasn’t any issue with that! B’jin always came willingly to his bed and even when sleeping was the actual item on the agenda, they often ended up being far more active than that. R’nd had more to say on the matter of B’jin and beds but the crack that symbolized the paper wherry was about to meet its timely death shut him up and made for a shuddering bluerider.
R’nd wrapped an arm around B’jin when he had the giggling greenrider clinging to him and held him close. It was more to keep himself safe from the wild children but if it gave off the illusion he was helping B’jin at all, he’d go with that as well. He was so pathetically useless when surrounded by brats!More like hilariously entertaining, Ayyonth chimed in, voice rich with laughter. R’nd was a confident young man most of the time but being near children had an interesting affect on that and he turned into a worried little boy. The children served as a nice distraction as well though. R’nd had been worried about his birthday and turning thirty. It didn’t seem to bother him one bit that his lover was older than him but to turn thirty himself? Ayyonth couldn’t believe the drama one man could come up with. It wasn’t the end of the world or the end of his youth, especially since he had hardly aged since the day they bonded. Humans were silly things.
When the wherry finally fell to pieces and the kids scrambled to claim prizes, R’nd laughed at the sight. It was a violent game but in an odd way it promoted teamwork and how it paid off in the end no matter who took the final swing. Still, he was relieved when it ended and the brave caretakers ushered the group into the next game which seemed to be ‘dragon, dragon, wherry’. Unfortunately Amorandii seemed to think her “date” for the day needed to play as well and R’nd soon had the birthday girl tugging on his hand. R’nd shot B’jin a look that pleaded silently for help but just as quickly as he gave it, R’nd was giving in and untangling from his lover to go play the children’s game. It was something he was used to play rather recently thanks to his time spent in R’nya’s wing so he knew it wouldn’t be too horrible.
As he was dragged along, R’nd held out his hand for B’jin and shrugged. Whether the greenrider wanted to join or watch was up to him as the bluerider laughed at the insistent tugging of one strong little girl moving him toward the circle.
