B'jin seemed pleased with her for being honest about her shortcomings; she wasn't super pleased to not be able to do it, but B'jin was accommodating. He adjusted himself to a more comfortable position, and she mimicked, not wanting to have her backside begin to ache while she was fiddling away with the guitar. As he began to explain the little tunes he was going to teach her, she carefully watched his fingers. They moved fluidly over the strings, barely a thought applied to making his fingers create such rich music.
When he started again and slowed down, she carefully worked her fingers over the strings. The chords were not completely unfamiliar, but she certainly could not go at his speed any time soon. Her fingers also ached - she didn't touch instruments nearly enough for her fingers to be comfortable with the odd stretching motions. But she mimicked him, mostly pleased. She got most of the notes right, going through it with him over and over for this little stretch.
When he asked her the question, it caught her off guard. Everyone seemed to be interested in her opinions or interests in Hatching or Standing. She frowned slightly, concentrating on correcting her finger motions when she made a sour note. "No," she finally replied, having gone through the section again. "I...I feel oddly about Hatchings." She began to pick through it again, eyes concentrating on the finger movements. "I know we need riders, and us 'Brats CAN stand, but...I don't know. I always figured that if I was meant to Stand, I'd know or someone would tell me. I don't know what a dragon would want with me anyway. I don't know if I'm the material needed. That's why we Search dragons, they know when someone's right."
