V'riy shrugged at O'wain as the brown rider commented that it was probably just someone's idea of a joke. "Well, perhaps I'm reading too much into it. but As I said, I always err on the side of caution," the bronzerider said seriously. He flashed a friendly smile at the brownrider, attempting to lighten things up again. V'riy knew that not everyone had the patience or the attention span for discussing the politics of Katila.
Truth be told, the bronzerider didn't really care to have to spend time on it himself but he saw it as a necessary evil. If he wanted to pursue a leadership position at Katila and perhaps one day rise to Weyrleader, he would have to navigate the waters as they were. Things at Katila were more complicated than they needed to be in his opinion but there was no undoing the poor decision making that had led them to the current situation. The only thing one could do was deal with it. He tried to view it all as a learning experience that he was sure to find useful if his future plans ever came to fruition.
"Well, if it's D'ren, he's definitely caused a bit of a stir," the bronzerider chuckled as he nodded in the general direction of the scandalous note. "It's anyone's guess, really. I wouldn't mind if someone started up a betting pool, taking wagers on whodunnit. I think it would be rather fun to see what the rest of Weyr thinks. Are you volunteering for the job?" the bronzerider inquired with a mischievous wink.
