Oh man, this was rich.
The only thing keeping I'shan from spouting on in a long, fitful, unnecessary act of flippant slander against R'nya was thew fact that Rhaedalyn [il]iked[/i] him. I'shan didn't even particularly dislike the boring old bronzerider, but Rhae actively doted on the man, so saying mean and hilariously untrue things was probably not in the best taste. It was a shame because it would have been awfully fun, but not even I'shan was that inconsiderate. He smirked, his broad smile only widening as he thought of the extended prank that could theoretically develop from this, but Rhae was just too sweet to use an ammunition.
"Well," he said, crossing his arm and turning his soft eyes up to the sky. "There's not so much to tell, really. He and I hung out with different crowds, but I can tell you that my Ilveriath hatched first...and his bronze came shortly after. It's kind of special, isn't it? His egg looked like it was going to hatch first, but the ol' bronze got his thunder stolen by a blue...and here we are, the only survivors from our class! Kinda cool, huh? It's like we were meant to be here..special from the start!"
Haha, special all right. But hey, he was playing nice! The last thing he wanted to do was actually upset her, and it wasn't like he'd been dishonest.
He cut his eyes to R'nd and smiled. "Nah...he and I met here. This crazy bastard kept me sane, really. I was a lonely little mess, but everyone needs friends." He slithered over to R'nd and gave him a solid bump on the shoulder to support his statement. He really didn't know what he would do without R'nd...In the past or the present, and certainly the future as well. I'shan was a very in-the-moment person, and his fear of both the past and the future didn't help with that. A good friend was a necessary tool for survival.
