"Very well," Talian replied as Indivara poked at him with her foot. It was a little rougher than he expected, but he was indifferent to such things by now. Patients had done far worse things to him, including biting and intentional, premeditated urination; a little kick was nothing! He then watched passively as she snatched the herbs and rose to her feet, naturally gravitating towards her annoying and obvious dim-witted friend.
Tal didn't necessarily have anything against Ryvian either, and he chose to interpret the man's terrible attitude as a cranky mood after a bad day. He certainly wasn't intimidating. After Tal's run-in with J'ver, he didn't think there was much the damn Katilans could do to him. He even smiled as Ryvian rebutted his comment, distantly amused by the level of willful ignorance that such accusations would require.
"Suit yourself," he replied, though he wasn't sure that either of them heard. If they didn't want to use the drugs, that was their problem. It was a shame, though. The girl must have been in pain, and Tal thought that Nyvian was pretty friendly and pleasant! Not so identical after all, else that or it was a bad day indeed!
"I gave up arguing with those types a long time ago. Don't let them get under your skin too much," he advised Isscer as the Katilan pair took off. The healer sucked in a deep breath and walked back to the other young man, intent on giving his nose one more look-over. "I'd chalk it up to stress. Something like that would have upset me horribly this time last year, and I'd have been beating myself up for days over it," he said with a healthy dose of grim humor. "But it's not worth it."
They are not worth it Khaduceth commented in a similar tone. The pair had a silent chuckle together. Sure, it was a little mean spirited, but Talian always appreciated the vote of confidence. He had Khaduceth to thank for much of it, but as the dragon himself would certainly have pointed out, not all of it.
It was a relief to not get so worked up over things anymore. Talian felt strong.
The healer eventually looked back to Isscer with a modest smile. "Can I do anything else for you?"
