Terken had missed all the chaos somehow. Then again he was attending under duress, but it seems that gathers in general were the one thing that R'ana and his father could come to consensus on. It was why he was gussied up in gather clothes, and missing Kela...though her absence had more to do with the litter of puppies nursing from her than anything else.
It was why he was late enough to have missed S'kef marching off the riders including R'ana. It was why, even now he was looking around for his foster mother, to prove he was here so he could leave. His father had already seen him, smoozing with some of the weyrlings made him too busy to come over though. Terken was grateful, deeply grateful, for that much.
He heard someone say her name and turned, then blinked at a somewhat familiar face. "That's not her. R'ana wore her hair down tonight and is carrying a bag of gifts for the weyrlings." He placed him then. "You're Oahvakeen, right? She was going on about dancing with you and someone named B'run and congratulating the weyrlings and giving everyone gifts. I don't understand why she isn't here."
He looked around. "She's wearing blue and purple. Maybe we can find her together? Once I prove to her I've been here, I can leave. I don't know any of the weyrlings so I'm not sure they would accept congratulatons from me."
