Farren moved over the sands, mildly surprised by the heat despite having been told to expect it. The gold egg loomed nearby, a haunting reminder of what every woman could be: A broodmare. Was she any better with the demand to produce children? That thought had weighed on her mind for quite some time and, as always, she pushed it to the side. It was nothing to worry about. She couldn't very well make a baby grow in her belly, now could she?
Focusing on the task at hand, she moved over the sands heading towards the egg that had been indicated. While the others might worry over it being another touching, Farren hardly minded. Oddly, she liked touchings. And hatchings, though they'd proven rather depressing as she failed time and time again. They were, after all, exciting! New life being there, just below her fingers in a hardened shell! It was fascinating! And she doubted she would ever tire of the thrill of seeing the hatchlings spill onto the sand.
She crouched near the egg, pulling her skirts up and pressing a hand to the shell. She smiled and ran her fingers over it gently. "Grow strong!" she whispered, hoping the dragon within could hear and would do as she asked.
